Honestly, it’s not you. Really, it’s me. Perhaps we’ll meet again someday. Maybe you’ll bring more to the relationship, and I’ll have more time to commit. Until then I’ll catch up on some reading, and I’ll attempt to channel my thoughts into more productive endeavors. I really should listen to my wife more.
Yeah, I’ll definitely catch up on some reading.
If you haven’t already heard, ArtificiallyImportant has been given new life as a group-curated endeavor. The new site will be much more outwardly focused on a diverse range of topics. We’ve already got a nice discussion growing in a number of posts in film, TV, toys, comics, music, and art. There are four new authors in addition to myself, so the content will be updated much more often than before, and ultimately it’ll just be cooler.
You can of course, continue to come here for all the breaking news on photos of linus as well as my more inwardly focused musings like “when shall I paint my porch?” and “I can’t wait until we have a yard sale so I can get all this junk out of my basement.”
If you saw Lost tonight (last night) you know what I’m talking about. I generally refrain from posting here about the show as it certainly gets enough attention from more formidable geeks across the internet, but tonight turned my head inside out. Thanks to Luke for being my go-to guy for post-show theory. Heather generally falls asleep as the credits roll, so no theorizing there. And where the heck is Denty? If you’ve got a valid reason for not being a fan of this show, I’d love to hear it. I got Luke, Erik, Jared, and Danny all up in my grill, hell I even got Matt “Cylon” Andrews talking trash, but no James!?
So Ben’s a more sadistic freak than we ever thought, Richard seems to have learned how to avoid aging, and Jacob makes it hard for me to sleep at night (plus he really hates flashlights). Now I’m stuck with finding something to do for another week while I wait for another 45 minutes of this incredible story.
I’ve shared most of these links before (with those of you who care), but I’ll reiterate here. If you’re looking for something to do while you wait for Wednesday, chuck these badboyz:
Lostpedia - Definitive resource for the show’s episodes, characters, and themes.
LostCasts - There are a ton of Lost podcasts, but these are the only guys doing it right - lots of heavy theory discussions here.
J. Wood’s Blog - Amazingly detailed analysis of each episode beginning with Not in Portland. Focuses heavily on the literary references that have become more and more prevalent on the show.
Official Lost podcast - Every week producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse offer some (light) analysis and dish out a handful of answers to fan questions.
Well, here it is — the much ballyhooed new blog. I wish I had a more Earth-shattering post with which to inaugurate it, but truth be told, I’m a little tired. Have a look-see and let me know what you think. I’ll continue to work on the styling of the site a little in the coming weeks, but you get the gist. Comments are better. Searching is better. Categories are better (in that I never used them on the old blog).
I’ll leave you with a couple of snapshots of my life this weekend, just so you feel that you’ve visited a blog:
- Took a nice 15 mile bike ride on Saturday - forgot I had bones in my ass, bicycle seat found and exploited them
- Weather was gorgeous this weekend - highs approaching 70, Florida should look into getting a Spring
- Watched Spiderman, Spiderman 2, and Spiderman 3 - I am an enormous geek
- Shaved and washed my dog - not a euphemism, I literally shaved and washed my dog
- Spent time with my mom, who in turn spent time making me food - I love my mom
And yes, I will sleep so much better tonight knowing that Spiderman 3 rocked all kinds of ass. Thanks for the glove Erik; it wouldn’t have been the same without it.

I implore you; check out this album. If you don’t like it I will personally call you and talk about my bout with childhood asthma for twenty-six minutes.
Check out her Virb page for a couple of tracks from the album.
So, I took some pinhole photos this afternoon, because I’d been telling myself all day that it was Worldwide Pinhole Day (and I’m inclined to participate in such things). I must say, I was quite proud of myself for actually accomplishing something I set out to do “on time.”

Turns out Pinhole Day was Sunday. Luckily (for you) I did snap a couple that afternoon as well. There are also a few more here. These were all taken with a very crudely fashioned (and unmeasured) pinhole punched in a piece of tin and attached to my Canon XTi. Please don’t expect me to remember your birthday.
