Eerie Entry

This is footage shot from one of the Space Shuttle’s solid rocket boosters as it makes its descent from space back to the Atlantic. I’ve seen a lot of footage like this over the years, but this is unique not only because of the quality but also the fact that it includes audio. If you can, turn off the lights, turn up your speakers and take this five minute ride.

    That was absolutely incredible.

For some reason, this made me think about being called up into heaven. I don’t think a camera would survive that trip.

There is some strange, calm beauty in all of that turmoil isn’t there?

The waves lapping on the side of the rocket at the end sound almost as foreign as the groaning stresses of the reentry.

I can’t wait to get my space on.

Nah, I think I’ll wait for the Messiah to show me around the universe. That will be a little more exciting (and free).

That ending is very nice. Very surreal. Perhaps that is the reason my mind went straight to heaven when I saw it.
