Where do paychecks go when they die?

Where ma taxes go?

A visual guide to the federal discretionary budget. This is where the majority of your federal income taxes are heading. This site is getting slammed right now, but you should still be able to view the graph. There’s a Flash version there that allows you to zoom in and get lost in the data. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get back to generating my share of the ~$145 billion that we’ll be spending in Iraq this year.

Well, I guess I’d rather have that money spent fighting terrorists overseas than rebuilding U.S. cities.

It’s the pork barrel spending that gets me. Our government is supposed to defend us from outside forces, not redistribute wealth to those who refuse to support themselves.

Like ‘ol Karl used to say…
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”

Well we all should have no problem borrowing money as soon as Bank of America gets rolling with their new plan. I’m sorry that will only be for persons who are in our country illegally not for those of us paying TAXES!!!! Maybe some of our tax dollars would be well spent figuring out more ways to cheat the system, like our lovely new SOH wanting non stop flights to fly her family members around the country, man I feel so good inside working my fingers to the bone for scraps.

Man, I don’t have the patience to read this thing. Does it mention the 2.7 trillion dollars we will be spending on welfare programs this year?

Of course, we’re still talking on the order of billions and trillions of dollars. Even if defense spending is dwindling in comparison to the 1950s, how much money does it require to stop a handful of terrorists with rudimentary piloting skills and about $12 worth of box cutters?

Like my dad always told me, work smarter, not harder. Our government does neither.

Well, unless you’re buying the stories of conspiracy theorists, you can’t stop anything if you don’t know how, when or where it’s going to happen. It’s easy to say we could have prevented it, having hind sight and all.

The truth is 9/11 wasn’t the beginning of the Islamic war against the great Satan (America) and it certainly will not be the end. Their stated goal is to destroy America and Israel and we can’t prevent it by talking to them. It may have been a handful of men who implemented the Trade Center attacks, but it is millions of extremists that we are at war with.

We may ultimately lose this war, but Christ will win it.
