Creation

Swirling storm

In keeping with the current theme, here are three links which I’ve been meaning to share:

Rainbow Gallery - Very nice shots of some unusual rainbows.

Storms - Amazing, beautiful, frightening storm photos.

Hummer Nest - Photos of the hatching and early development of two humming birds. These are amazing, and the kicker is the scale reference at the end.

Yo, did you see Lynne’s post on tuesday titled “bow”.

Isn’t it amazing how much of our life is spent ignoring the beauty of God’s creation?

Rubens: I see it now! Very nice. You should point her towards that link for some more reference.

James: I agree. It’s a shame that for all the beauty in the world I spend far too much time in a cubicle under the green glow of a flourescent light.

That’s one of the most cataclysmic disgraces of our postmodern existence y’know. Once while watching the film “Winged Migration” in a movie theatre, I paused for a second and just watched everybody looking and PAYING ATTENTION to creation inside a manmade building. It was quite a strange sight, but more of a strange revelation because this sight is too frequent amidst our postmodernity. I think a lot of out stress, ailments, worries, etc. also come from the fact that we don’t spend time in the realm that we were meant for, myself included. I saw an Iranian film that I really enjoyed called “Smell of Camphor, Fragrance of Jasmine” where the protagonist upon his closeness to death says that he had an incredible yearn toward creation. That statement has meant a lot for me in my thinking ever since. I compare everything to Eden and it’s very, again, revelatory for me, y’know…

my cubicle’s right next to a window. i’m practically Tarzan.

but i agree with Loomis. if so many years of entropy produces something this absurdly breath-taking, imagine the storm clouds that will be created when Messiah breaches creation with you and i in tow, coming to reclaim [and re-create] Earth. all of creation praises His name. even photos of it.
