No time

Sometime soon I’ll be back with the swing of things around here. Until then, you can enjoy another video care of Denty and Co. I think this one blew a hole in my mind.

It’s busy up in here.

Judging from this photo, I’m either on my way to a rave or I’m still busy doing projects around the house. Hopefully next week will give me a break from the home improvement marathon I’m currently running. That’s not to be confused with a Home Improvement marathon you might see on TBS. Oh Tim, your pratfall power tool shtick never seemed so poignant as it does today.

Stamps almighty!

I’m certainly not the type to get excited about stamps normally. However, I am the type to get excited about stamps that bear the likeness of our good friend Mario. James’ friend Jason just brought these bad boys back from Japan, and he was kind enough to bring an extra set for yours truly (that’s me). I don’t have mine in hand yet, but you can look at James’ for now.

The difficult art of drying your hands

Alright, so I’ve been super busy lately with baby prep, but I can always take time out to get disgusted with my fellow man. As anyone that knows me well can attest, I have a long list of pet peeves. Chief among said pet peeves are those in the “Men’s Room” category. In the first picture below you’ll see the sink in the men’s room with a stack of paper towels. It’s really simple; when you wash your hands (assuming you do), you simply take a paper towel and dry your hands. So what exactly is going on in the second picture taken later in the afternoon? How can you so badly screw up such a simple process?! I should also add that this is not an isolated event and you can usually find this same scene on any given day of the week. Maybe one of my fellow employees has a crab claw for a hand, in which case I apologize. I’m sure living with a crab claw can be difficult in a society where most restrooms are not crab claw accessible. However, I feel this is a simple case of ass-headedness and could be cured by simply cleaning up after yourself.

Xia Zhe!

On behalf of James, Danny, Jared, Erik, and Foote Peterson, I give you Xia Zhe!

Majority Fallacy

Most of you have seen this at some point, but in the interest of adding more garbage to the web I’ve uploaded it to YouTube. I did this four or five years ago, but it still delights the souls of both young and old.

Life on the Skreet

This is utterly horrible but it still makes me smile. This footage was originally intended to be used in Death By Fist and was shot on the same night. The only problem was that Erik (operating my camera) accidentally recorded onto the 8Mb memory stick rather than the DV tape, so there was only a minute and a half of video shot. Apparently he also had trouble holding the flashlight on the subject in front of the camera. Notice in the beginning of the shot that Jared’s stomach is very well lit. I wouldn’t want to scrap with these guys. They sound like real tough candies.

Fixin’ da Nursery

If you’ve been in our house, you may remember that closed door next to the bathroom on the second floor. Behind the door is a dilapidated room that will have to be the nursery in just a few short months. There were things in this room that were (luckily) not found anywhere else in the house. On the list to be removed/repaired are the disintegrating drop ceiling hiding crumbling plaster, the paneled walls covered with wallpaper, and the poorly laid baseboards. You can see from the video that I’ve got a couple of weeks of work ahead of me.

Circumhorizon Arc

I was digging around that site with the rainbow images and stumbled upon an image gallery of circumhorizon arcs. Don’t worry, I’ve never heard of them either. There’s a good explanation on the site as to how these occur, but it’s suffice to say that they are quite rare. Get impressed!

Swirling storm

In keeping with the current theme, here are three links which I’ve been meaning to share:

Rainbow Gallery - Very nice shots of some unusual rainbows.

Storms - Amazing, beautiful, frightening storm photos.

Hummer Nest - Photos of the hatching and early development of two humming birds. These are amazing, and the kicker is the scale reference at the end.
