I don’t know what’s going on with the comments form. I’m about to bust out a shamrock shake and just call it quiet!
Take a second and try to comment on this story. Let me know what happens. Does the page refresh properly? Does your comment show up right away or do you have to refresh again? Should I just send everyone a block of wood into which they can whittle messages?
I’ll start the party off right with a comment.
Which did not refresh the page correctly. I suck.
when i posted on your other post, i remember it refreshing immediately. lemme check again.
yep. for me it refreshes right away.
except that it refreshes twice in a row now!
My plastic G#3 stopped playing vinyl when I hit refresh.
what is this “refresh” you speak of?
My G5 couldn’t handle your java powers…

Doris - It does indeed seem to be refreshing twice.
Autrelle - You’re right, my AM radio isn’t working either now.
Mark - The Refresh button makes your computer feel better after a long day at work.
…and that time the comments worked perfectly. The page only refreshed once and the comment appeared right away. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. maybe I’ll go eat a sandwich.
funny you said that, I thought my G4 was hungry and thus not refreshing so I fed him a sammy quite robust, and Dolly Parton’s pic came up on the screen! Is that what you mean by refresh?!
Branden, did you ever figure out how to make the comments work properly? Could you post your code somewhere? I went away for vacation for 3 weeks and was hoping that you’d have it figured out by the time I got back
I’ve looked over the source code for your page and others, but a bit of javascript syntax still has me confused since I just started trying to learn it. I’m about ready to forget about it. Thanks!
Doris, The comments here are definitely working, but they’re not perfect. Occasionally I get two email notifications for each comment, and there appears to be a refresh issue. Sometimes you can see your comment right away sometimes you have to refresh manually to see it. I haven’t had time to dig back into it, but you’re welcome to take a look at the template code. If you do implement the code please let me know. I’d love to see how it works out on your blog.
hey branden. i managed to implement the comment code for my blog yesterday (haven’t read your template but I used your source code, so should be the same). Mine doesn’t seem to refresh twice, although you should give it try and let me know what happens. I cut out all the fancy formatting buttons and Remember Me stuff, but that shouldn’t change anything. I have to admit, I don’t fully understand the code for it. There’s a couple of javascript things that don’t make any sense to me. I haven’t been able to find much detail on web tutorials and such. Anyhow, give it a try and let me know what happens. www.dorisisms.blogspot.com
Oh, and you have to click on ’say something’ on my blog. that will take you to the comment form. Cheers.
